Case Study
Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth, UK
Project: Refurbishment of a 6,000 sqm metal roof
Challenge
As part of its carbon‑reduction strategy, BAE Systems wanted to install a solar PV panel system on a 6,000 sqm metal roof. The roof needed refurbishing prior to the installation of PV panels to ensure it would remain reliable for the full lifespan of the new PV system.
Solution
Rooflock Twelve HR Coating System was specified for it's corrosion protection and durability, to ensure the roof is future‑proofed and able to continue performing throughout the lifetime of the PV panels.
Results
The refurbished roof is now fully protected and ready for solar PV installation. Its upgraded surface helps reduce maintenance risks and supports BAE Systems’ long‑term renewable energy plans.
Key Benefits
▪ Roof fully prepared for future solar PV installation
▪ Improved durability and corrosion protection
▪ Reduced long-term maintenance requirements
▪ Minimal disruption to facility operations
▪ Supports BAE Systems' energy-efficiency and sustainability targets
